So.... Cullen drew a picture for Madison.

Madison drew Cullen a picture. He loved it.

We celebrated Cullens 3rd Birthday while we were there. Cullen had a busy day at the doctors office so we had birthday cake and opened presents, and then Cullen was very tired. He had a babysitter and we went to dinner without him.

Chesapeake bay bridge. A bridge 17 miles long that connects Virginia to Delaware and Maryland.

After a 16 hour drive on Friday (we got stuck in Washington DC traffic), we enjoyed a fun day at the beach on Saturday. Cullen absolutely LOVED it!!

Cross country skiing- Fun!!

Norm and I went to Garland Resort this weekend and had a GREAT time. We did the gourmet glide, which is cross country skiing with 5 stops along the way. All the stops had wonderful food and drinks. We started with a big breakfast in the clubhouse, then we skied awhile and then stopped for appetizers and drinks. We had chocolate fondue, cheese and crackers, beer and wine, hot chocolate, etc... We had five stops total and the last one was a full pasta dinner and desert. It was wonderful!!! We skied 7.5 kilometers. I didn't know if I would enjoy cross country skiing. I found out that I did!! Norm did also.

This was one of our stops along the trail. There was a bonfire, ice fishing, and ice "golf". We also had food of course.

Matt turns 21 !!!

Matt spent the eve of his birthday with friends and his cousin Jason. They went to Buffalo Wild Wings and Matt had his first "legal" drink(s) at midnight.The picture below is just a few of the friends he celebrated with.

When Matt got home from celebrating his birthday, he was a little "under the weather". By the evening he was feeling better and we took him out to dinner. Afterward the Oglesbys joined us and we had cake, and the traditional birthday celebration.

The day ended with a snow fight outdoors.

Christmas 2009

Christmas day was fun filled. Mom and Wayne were here this year so it was nice to be able to spend the day with them. We opened presents in the morning and then we went to the oglesbys for a wonderful day spent with family. I wish the Shomos, Wooleys and Scotts could have joined us.
A special thanks to Karen for having us all over on Christmas and for making the day so enjoyable.

Merry Christmas everyone. I hope everyone had a wonderful time like we did. Here are some pictures from Christmas eve. We all went to Kelly and Matt's church (matt played joseph in the church play), then we came back to our house for dinner.

Virginia Trip and Thanksgiving

A couple of weeks ago I had the pleasure of visiting Ken, Cheryl and Cullen. I had a great time. It has been very busy since I got back so it took me awhile to get some pictures posted.

Cullen loves to sit and listen to his music. He's only two but he knows how to work the cd player.

I got to visit Cullen's preschool class. Class was canceled because of the storm and flooding but we let him play for awhile. He likes school.

Cheryl, Cullen and I went to mall to get Cullen's hair cut. He didn't enjoy it too much.

While we were at the mall Cullen had a chance to "drive" the fire truck. He loved it.

There was a bad storm with rain and high winds that knocked the power out for a couple of days. It gave us more time to sit and talk and I was able to spend a lot of time with Cullen.

A peaceful ending to a wonderful trip. Thanks Ken and Cheryl for everything.

Thanksgiving this year was spent at the Phelans and we had a wonderful time and ate some delicious turkey. Thank you Noreen for a very tasty dinner. We had a great time.

Norm and I had a fun filled day with the neighbors on Saturday. Look at the pictures and guess where we were.

We went to Notre Dame for the Notre Dame vs MSU football game. Sue and John, our neighbors, got free tickets to the game and they invited us to join them. The weather was perfect (sunny and 72 degrees), and it was an exciting game. We were in row 17 on the goal line. MSU lost in the last minute of play. The score was 33-30.

On Sunday, Norm, Matt and I went to First Baptist Church in Williamston for their church service/picnic/car show. One of the guys Norm works with goes to the church and he invited us.The weather was beautiful and there were games, good food, fun and a car show. Norm's car won two out of the three trophies!!!! He won for "guest speakers choice" AND "peoples choice" award. WOW!!!
We can now add two large trophies to the collection.

KELLY AND MATT'S MISSOURI RECEPTION/LUAU

Last weekend Norm and I, and Kelly and Matt went to Missouri for a wedding reception/luau. The Wegescheides decided to have a reception for them in Missouri since most of their family couldn't come to Michigan for the wedding. (our son Matt was in NC with Laurens family so he didn't go). It was a lot of fun! Thank you to the Wegescheides for throwing such a fun party!!!

While we were in Missouri we celebrated Kelly's 23 birthday. Happy birthday Kelly!!

Linda and Michael (a couple from church) invited us and some other friends up for a fun weekend at their cottage. We enjoyed a boat ride under the pure blue skies.

HAPPY 50TH BIRTHDAY NORM !! We celebrated Norm's birthday Friday with friends and family. It was a lot of fun!!! Happy birthday to Norm and Bethany today!!!!

There were 50 candles on his cake- good thing Madison was there to help him blow out the candles.

Norm got lots of NASCAR gifts.

Don had to help Norm read the cards because Norm has "fifty year old eyes" now.

A very surprising gift Norm received from his family was a gift to do "The Petty Experience". He gets to drive an actual Nascar race car. He was very excited, (but Mark was very jealous). But after a short time Karen presented mark with the same gift so the two of them could go together. They were both VERY excited. (see karen's blog for Norm's facial expression when he opened the gift).

I haven't blogged for awhile so I thought I would let you see how I have been spending my days....working of course.(and also helping to plan a wedding). These are just a few pics of my days at work.

Ken, these pictures are for you and Cheryl. The doctors that I work for bought a new whippet puppy. Her name is Zola. They are house breaking her so they have it at work with them. She is about 4 months old in this picture. She has a great temperment, and we really love having her in the office.

Hibernating

Since the beginning of the year we have been doing a lot of hibernating. It has been COLD and SNOWEY!! I'm ready for winter to be done. (Joni and Charlie, I'm sure you can relate). Norm even had to snow blow the pool so when the snow melted it didn't go into the skimmer and ruin it. Michigan winters.........you gotta love them.

On Christmas eve we were invited to go to some friends of ours, Don and Donna Sisco. We went over to their house for appetizers, and then to church, and then back to their house with some other families and played a game of cranium We had a great time!!

A night at the spa

Last Friday we were treated by the doctors that I work for to a night at the spa. We had dinner catered to us(it was delicious) and then we had a choice of a pedicure or a massage. I had a pedicure and it was fabulous. This was a hundred dollar pedicure so it was VERY nice .We had a great time together and a big thank you to the doctor for treating us to a relaxing night at the spa.

Thanksgiving started out with a delicious breakfast, with many thanks to Norm for cooking for us.
Next we had to check out all the "after thanksgiving " ads. We found some great bargains.
Next, we went over to Karen and Marks for dinner.Mark and Madison had time for a fun game.

The friday after thanksgiving is time for the festival of lights parade in Howell. The weather was nice, but cold. A fun time was had by all.

On Saturday we drove to Indianapolis to meet up with the Wegescheide family and return Missouri Matt back to his family. He was visiting in Michigan for the past week. We actually had some relaxing time.

Saying goodbye....so sad. But,Kelly and Matt will be together soon in Europe. Kelly will be going there in 2 weeks, just for a 10 day visit to "check it out".

Here is the picture you have been waiting for Kelly. Your NEW room. I didn't want to put the bulletin board up on the wall, but we didn't throw ANYTHING away. We have everything in boxes waiting for you to go through when you get home from school. Maybe you can help me pick out pictures for the walls when you get home.

Kelly, this is a gift from Aunt Debbie waiting for you when you get home. A gift for your classroom. It is the curious George book and Curious George!!!!!!!! That was very sweet of Aunt Debbie. Thank you.

This is our room. I don't have wide angle so it's very hard to get a good picture. but, you can get the general idea. As you can see I also haven't put pictures on the wall yet so it looks pretty boring. Come visit if you want to see the whole room.

This is now the "spare bedroom". It used to be Kellys room downstairs.

Busy, Busy, Busy

This is how Norm and I have been spending the last week. Painting 3 bedrooms and changing the carpet in all 4 bedrooms. Norm is doing 90% of it since he is still off work. But I try to help when I can.

This is our family room and living room with all the bedroom furniture in it. We only have a small aisle to get to the T.V. We have to watch the presidential debates after all. Stay tuned for the finished products. I will take pictures of the new and improved bedrooms.

Fun Camping Weekend

This past weekend we went camping with Matt and Cindy Wegescheide (Kelly's future inlaws). We went to Turkey Run State Park in Indiana. Matt and Bethany have you been there?
It's a beautiful state park with lots of hiking trails and very clean camping. There is an olympic size swimming pool for the campers also. It's just an awesome state park and I recommend it to anyone who camps. We walked the hiking trails for seven hours on Saturday, and had sore legs the next day. We had a GREAT time with Matt and Cindy, and would love to go there again sometime.

Labor Day Fun

Last Friday we spent the last "official" weekend of the summer with our friends, John and Michelle. They have a beautiful home on White lake.

We went for an evening boat ride.

We ended the evening with a bonfire down by the lake.

25 Years Ago

August 13, 1983. It seems like soooo long ago.

Here we are today- 25 years later, and 25 years older.
For our 25th anniversary we were treated to a wonderful steak dinner by Noreen and Jim. Thanks again Noreen and Jim. Ruth's crisp steak house was wonderful! There is NO better steak anywhere.
Noreen and Jim also celebrated their 21st anniversary with us. We had a great time.
Thanks again to everyone for the wonderful 25th anniversary music box. It is beautiful.

Birthday Celebration and Family Fun

What a fun week it has been- and it's not over yet. Ken and Cheryl, and Mom and Wayne all came for Cullens first birthday. We had a fun birthday celebration at our house.

Madison LOVED spending time with cousin Cullen and had to be in the picture with him.
The Patriarch and Matriarch were there to oversee the party.

Cousins just "hanging out" after a rough volleyball game. Wish you were here Woolley family. We missed you.
